Funny poet - George Kirk

George Kirk is a primary school teacher in East Lancashire. When she is not busy writing lesson plans and reports she writes stories and poems just for fun. She's not too bad at it. She's been long-listed for Undiscovered Voices, short-listed for the Commonword Diversity in Children's Writing Prize and was overall winner in the Brit Writers' Unpublished Award.
She often does story telling at local schools, libraries and festivals so if you are in the East Lancashire please feel free to contact her though her website www.georgekirk.co.uk

I'm George Kirk. I teach children, eat cheesecake, play ukulele, love buttons, wear hats and sometimes a beard. But more importantly than all of that, I write poems, lots of big fat wobbly poems.
I can often be found skulking about my home town in East Lancashire, ready to spring on unsuspecting folk to read them stories and recite poetry, so if you're ever in the area WATCH OUT! Hang on a minute, the others are all doing this in rhyme aren't they? |

Clever clogs, oh clever clogs,
They always have to rhyme on blogs.
They think I can not do the same,
You know it drives me quite insane.
But I will have the last laugh see,
By writing here in poetry!
Teachers can find out more about me here
