Jo Dearden

When Jo was 11 her English teacher, Mrs Kitts, told her that she’d write a book one day. Jo is still waiting for that prediction to come true. In the meantime she’s been thinking up lots of stories for young children.
Some rhyme and are funny (some don’t and aren’t).
Jo likes words more than numbers.
Here are some especially good ones:
cacophony
kerfuffle
glisten
cantankerous
smidgeon
crevasse
codswallop
diaphanous
nitwit
fandango

In 2015 she won a competition to become part of the funeverse and now she writes poems too! Her favourite poets are John Hegley, Mandy Coe, Pam Ayres and Lily (Jo’s daughter, who is 10).

Jo is also 99% human and 1% cat. That photo of her eye proves it…
