Loved fantastic hats.
Some were shaped like daisies,
And some were shaped like bats.
Some looked just like animals,
She’d once seen in the zoo.
Lions, monkeys, hippos.
Giraffes, and kangaroos.
One day she thought it would be fun,
To wear a sailing ship.
She tied the hat under her chin,
And fastened it with clips.
A gale blew fast,
A gale blew strong,
As she went out to play.
The wind caught Harriet Hailey
And sailed her far away.
