Purple and Pink by Dom Conlon

So you wore purple, I wore pink,
Should we care what others think?
Should we care if people stare,
Or if they tease and pull our hair? ​

How dull we’d be to be the same,
All meek and mild, all nice and tame.
I think I’d rather be the one
To say this isn’t how it’s done.  

To say let's wear what we like most.
To stand up high and even boast
That I’ll be me and you'll be you
No matter what the others do.

So take my hand and help me show
We’re all a part of each rainbow.
