With his pen gripped tight.
He drew the lines, he rubbed them out,
He had to get it right.
He hated scrawling scribbles,
Wiggles, squiggles, whirls...
His zigs and zags were perfect,
But then he smudged a swirl.
He rubbed it out, he rubbed a hole,
It spoilt the lion's grin.
So he scrumpled up his doodle,
And threw it in the bin.
Messy Maisy did a doodle
With her eyes shut tight,
She drew the lines, they crissed and crossed,
There was no wrong or right.
She giggled as she scribbled
Wiggles, squiggles, whirls.
Her zigs and zags were jerky,
She smudged her curvy swirls.
When she was done, she took a look,
There was a kangaroo!
A zebra, tiger, chimpanzee,
She'd doodled down a zoo!
